A strategic alliance for a shared future
This integration is part of a shared vision: to create an undisputed global leader in formwork, carousels and machinery for the concrete industry.
By joining forces, we are combining strong brands, each a leader in its own market:
- CONSTRUX, the historic pillar, producing all types of formwork and molds for concrete elements.
- WECKENMANN, an expert in production plants, integrated into the Group in 2023.
- CBE, market leader in tunnel segments, bringing expertise in a key precast sector previously unexplored by Construx.
- ACIMEX, an expert in the handling of heavy loads, especially by vacuum, a technology not yet developed within Construx.
CBE's and ACIMEX's operational sites in China provide a solid foundation for the Construx Group's expansion into currently unexplored areas.
For CBE and ACIMEX, this union is a logical and natural next step. It secures our future and accelerates our development, after a cycle of growth and successful positioning under the leadership of Philippe Samama, to whom we extend our sincere thanks.
Who is Construx Group, prior to the acquisition?
Since its start in 2003 by Anthony Jannes and Ward Demyttenaere, Construx has established a global presence with an extensive portfolio of formwork solutions for both precast and in-situ concrete structures.
Construx manages all engineering and manufacturing fully in-house and, as a true manufacturing company, operates nine production sites across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Romania. Five of these locations also serve as rental hubs for modular formwork systems, enabling the group to provide flexible, project-driven support to its clients.
The acquisition of German automation specialist Weckenmann in 2023 was a key step in Construx’s buy & build strategy. With a consolidated turnover of €70 million and 380 employees in 2024, Construx became a global benchmark in moulds, machines and circulation lines for the precast concrete industry.
With successful reference projects in over 80 countries, Construx-Weckenmann has grown into a leading name in the global precast concrete sector. The group is currently delivering large-scale carousel installations for clients in the United Kingdom, Portugal, Canada and Poland, in addition to numerous formwork projects worldwide, ranging from the United States to New Zealand.
Our Shared Mission: "Shaping the FUTURE of CONCRETE"
With the acquisition of CBE Group, Construx Group's consolidated turnover will rise to approximately €100 million, and the group will employ nearly 700 people worldwide. Construx Group remains 100% owned by its founders and management team, with Julien Travers, as a co-owner, taking on the role of CEO of CBE Group and its subsidiaries.
Together, we will shape the future of concrete. Our vision for our brands is clear:
- For CBE: Preserve the strong identity of the brand and boost its growth by leveraging the technological and commercial synergies among the three entities (CBE, Construx and Weckenmann).
- For ACIMEX: Fully integrate the brand into the Construx and Weckenmann portfolio and roll it out globally as the benchmark it already is.
